Robert builds an Ezee future!

A proactive partnership between Ingeus and Newcastle upon Tyne’s Ezee Scaffolding is leading to more jobs for unemployed people who are keen to learn new skills and get back into work.

Ingeus, which delivers the Government’s Work Programme throughout the North East, has devised a specially tailored course to explain what working for Ezee Scaffolding entails. Then, through partnering with a local training provider, Ingeus is equipping candidates with the key vocational skills they need to apply for jobs with the firm.

23-year-old Robert Burns from Fenham is one of those who, thanks to the scheme, is now back in work. Unemployed for eight months and having applied for more than 300 jobs, Robert was frustrated with being at home all day and wanted to work so that he could pay his own way.

“I was also eager to learn new skills and gain recognised qualifications, all of which will be valuable in the future,” said Robert. “I wanted to work in construction, and so this job is ideal for me.”

“Robert is a good example of why we value our relationship with Ingeus,” said Ezee Scaffolding’s operations director Michael Allan. “They ensure candidates have an insight into the job and only put forward those who are suitable. Yes, we are filling our vacancies as a result, but we are doing so with the right people, and this gives us a head start in what is a very competitive industry.”

Ingeus’ Employer Services Manager Lesley-Ann Kirk added, “Our partnership with Ezee Scaffolding demonstrates that, by working closely with businesses in the North East and understanding their needs, Ingeus can really help companies recruit the right people for their jobs. It’s a free service, and we know from the employers we work with across the region that it has real value.”

The Work Programme supports long-term unemployed people with a range of job-seeking services including writing an effective CV, learning how to get the most from interviews and searching for suitable jobs.
